Maintenance and care

To ensure your Vintage Hamilton RR Special Cal 505 remains in pristine condition and performs at its best, follow these steps when not wearing:

  • 1: Remove watch from wrist.
  • 2: Hold watch firmly and pull crown to time set position. This will “hack” the movement.
  • 3: Continue holding firmly & give the watch 3 gentle shakes back & forth (from side to side). This will ensure that the balance rotates all the way to the rest position. When the balance is in the rest position, the battery will not be used, and the watch will start back up when you push the crown back in.
  • 4: If watch doesn’t start immediately after pushing crown back in, give the watch a gentle shake or gentle tap to kickstart it.
